Solution treatment of 304 stainless steel castings


Solid solution treatment refers to the process of heating the alloy to the temperature at which the second phase can be completely or maximally dissolved into the solid solution, and then keeping it for a period of time, cooling it faster than the second phase precipitates from the solid solution to obtain supersaturated solid solution.

The main purpose of solution treatment is to improve the plasticity and toughness of steel or alloy and prepare for precipitation hardening treatment. Solid solution treatment is a very common processing technology in material science experiments. Solid solution can be obtained from solid solution. Make the various phases in the alloy fully dissolve, strengthen the solid solution, and improve the toughness and corrosion resistance, eliminate stress and softening, in order to continue processing or forming.
