Milling Machines and Milling Cutters

There are many shapes of milling cutters, which are used for processing slots and linear contours on ordinary milling machines and CNC milling machines, and for machining cavities, cores, and curved surface shapes/contours on milling and boring machining centers. Generally divided into:
1. Flat end milling cutter, for rough milling, removal of a large number of blanks, fine milling of small horizontal planes or contours;
2. Ball end milling cutter for semi-finishing and finishing milling of curved surfaces; small knife can finish milling of small chamfers on steep surfaces/straight walls.
3. The flat end milling cutter has a chamfer, which can be used for rough milling to remove a large number of blanks, and can also be finely milled with small chamfers on flat surfaces (relative to steep surfaces).
4. Forming milling cutters, including chamfering cutters, T-shaped milling cutters or drum-shaped cutters, tooth-shaped cutters, and inner R cutters.
5. Chamfering cutter, the shape of the chamfering cutter is the same as that of the chamfering, and it is divided into milling cutters with rounded chamfers and beveled chamfers.
6. T-shaped knife can mill T-shaped slots;
7. Tooth cutter, milling out various tooth shapes, such as gears.
milling machine
Milling machine refers to a machine tool that mainly uses milling cutters to process various surfaces on workpieces. Usually the rotation of the milling cutter is the main movement, and the movement of the workpiece (and) the milling cutter is the feed movement. It can process flat surfaces, vertical surfaces, inclined surfaces, various grooves or forming surfaces, and if equipped with some accessories (such as dividing head), it can also process spiral grooves, cams, forming surfaces, etc.
A milling machine is a machine tool that uses a milling cutter to mill a workpiece. In addition to milling planes, grooves, gear teeth, threads and spline shafts, milling machines can also process more complex profiles, with higher efficiency than planers, and are widely used in machinery manufacturing and repair departments.
